Fantastic product
a year ago
Gone through 2 of these 1lb spools now welding big rig aluminum trailers. Welded 4043, 5356, 6061 and all handled very well. It melts in very smooth as long as your prep is correct and clean. CT also has the better price as compared to other nearby big box stores.
Also, if you're considering buying this or the 5356 superglaze spool, just remember that the 5356 requires a stronger machine for proper penetration and wetting.

A: Yes, the end user will need to run a shielding gas to properly weld aluminum. This is typically 100% Argon. A local Praxair or Linde gas distributor should be able to set you up with a bottle and the gas needed.
