Had to return. Wrong product.

I bought this to use with my MigPak 140 multiprocess welder also bought at Canadian Tire. It's not compatible with that welder nor any other machine sold by Canadian Tire.
This gun has a 4 pin connector and the correct gun has an 8 pin connector. Canadian Tire doesn't sell the 8 pin and I had to source elsewhere.

Great for the first spool of wire

Fit and finish is what was expected. What was not known at the time of an online purchase was that the gun only takes 4043 wire, which is not sold at Canadian Tire. The question section declined to publish a question asking where the specific wire could be found.

Wire feeder jams

Purchased it amd it looks great. The aluminum wire keeps jamming in the feeder. But when it did work it was nice. Heavy but nice. Lincokn has to finger put why it jams

I bought this for the Maximum 180 welder I bought at my local CT a few months before. It is a great welder that does MIG, stick and now with the Lincoln spool gun welds aluminum with just the flick of a switch. CT had the same or better price on this spool gun then other retailers and shipped it to my local store for free.
It's not top of the line but for the price does what it advertises.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Does this kit come with the switch that is required to go from spool gun to normal gun? I have a Lincoln 180 and it says the optional spool gun is this guns model number but I have a spot on my machine for the switch I mentioned.

A: Thank you for your question! Yes, the spool gun will work with newer MIG Pak 140 and MIG Pak 180 machines. These machines have been in production for over 10 years. If you have a machine that has been made over the past few years, you will have no issues. If the machine was purchased over 10 years ago it may not be compatible. You can call us and we can check the serial #, if you believe that your machine is 10+ years old!

Q: Both the Mig 140 and 180 use a 4-pin electrical connection; however, this spool gun uses an 8-pin electrical connection. It is not plug and play. How are these intended to work together? Is there an adapter that is needed?

A: CTC product # 58-6500 (Lincoln Electric Product # K2532-1) spool gun assembly, which is designed to work with most of the current Lincoln Electric retail welders, such as the Mig Pak 140 and 180. It may not work with older generation equipment. Please contact Lincoln Electrci directly about the equipment you are using (make sure to have the product serial number) at 888-935-3877 to get assistance in your specific case.

A: For the PowerMig 210MP, we recommend our K3269-1 Magnum PRO spool gun accessory. This spool gun uses the Magnum PRO contact tips, which is the same style used on a 210MP.
