A lot of fun to build and play with

My 4 year old son wanted this for Xmas after seeing it in a flyer and while It is says ages 7 and up I thought "we'll let's get it and see how we do".
We sat down one afternoon and I figured we'd do a bag or 2 and then take a break cause he is a fournado and doesn't tend to sit for long lol. Well he didnt want to stop. We worked on it for 3.5 hours start to finish and he LOVES it. There are a lot of super fun features like a trapdoor/tunnel, helicopter, boats, sharks, and his favourite was that they have a toilet to use too lol.
While I don't have a lot of recent lego experience I do think that the build experience and play value of this set is excellent. Can't wait to get him another set to build with him. Great way to spend an afternoon with your little one :)

There are 9 individual bags in this kit so very manageable to construct. Our 4 year old grandson actively participated and we stopped after every second bag to enjoy playtime with the completed parts. The detail is amazing. The most impressive Lego kit to date for me. Definitely a hit here for design and play value. Highly recommend.

This set is basically Alcatraz and its amazing! my 5 year old got this for his birthday and he has wanted it since Christmas, needless to say he lit up when he opened it. The build was fun and straightforward, and challenging enough where it made him think. Playing with it is super fun and you can do so many different things with it!

If you’re on the fence, get it

This was a really fun build, with a lot of cool little details. Much more intricate than I had expected for a set rated 7+. The cliff base and all of the escape routes were my favourite parts to build. It’s also a great value, with the building, 2 boats, and a helicopter included. My 5 year old daughter has been playing with it nonstop
