I love this Cookware set

I bought this 5 years ago and I'm still in love with it!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Horrible cookware

I bought this set knowing the name brand for having excellent quality and because the set was beautiful. I should have saved some money and bought some no name, generic, disposable pots and pans. They would've lasted longer. I honestly think that simply boiling water would still damage the surface of these pots. There isn't a utensil out there that would be safe for this cookware set. I was so excited to purchase my first "and hopefully last" cookware set only to have to need a new set a year later. The cardboard box this set came in is way more durable than the cookware inside.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Chips, scratches, and stained

at first i loved these, but less than 2 years of use and they are no longer non stick, have chipped so much and full of scratches. I dont use any metal utensils and wash with a soft sponge. Not worth the money. Sad because they’re so pretty

No, I do not recommend this product.

Tempermental Cook

I purchased this set which also at that time came with a free wok at a very low price. Plus I got a $30 Canadian Tire gift card with it for free. Well the next day I went and bought silicone cooking tools for this very delicate cookware with the gift card. The coating can be very easily scratched and one scratch and it is wrecked for future use. The cookware cannot be stacked because of this. It discolours easily after a few uses. I had to hide the cookware from the husband and roommates. Every time my husband used the frying pan if I had neglected to hide it away he would use a metal spoon and I would frantically ask him not to use metal utensils and he would get upset with me. I finally took the set back to the store and was happily given a refund and not charged for the $30 gift card. I decided I needed a more practical cookware set that I didn't have to guard with my life because I have other priorities.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Don't through your money away!

I bought a set on sale about a year ago and in the first use I was SO impressed, because they were extremely nonstick, perfect heat distribution, ... BUT after a few weeks (I cook every day) they started to wear & scratched & discoloured, and....- I only use silicon utensils and soft sponge pads to clean, didn't even put them in the dishwasher. Now, after a year I am throughing them away. They are absolouthy useless since they no longer have any coats on them and they look like I used them 30 years.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Can these go in the dishwasher?

  • A: These are Dishwasher safe. Canadian Tire says no, but the box says they are so I contacted Lagostina directly and they confirmed that they are dishwasher safe as per the manufacturing specs. I have a set and have put them in the dishwasher several times with no problems.

Q: induction? would it work well? And as this is made especially for Canadian Tire the recommended price is fictional. Would this be an inferior product or would it be a full quality lagostina?

  • A: I don't have an answer to you regarding whether this is an 'inferior product' or 'full quality lagostina', but I do have one of these pans and use it with an induction cooktop and have no problems with it. I can also say that I have been happy with the quality and performance.

Q: how to clean stains off of fry pan

1 Answer
  • A: Hello William, The Lagostina Bianco Ceramic Forged cookware uses the highest quality Swiss made ILAG ceramic non-stick coatings and ILAG recommends the following steps to care for stains: 1) When finished cooking on heat, put the pan under water straight from the stove. The steam created sometimes makes the burned on food come off. 2) Use baking soda. Put a little water in the pan along with baking soda. Letting most of the baking soda rest on top of the stain. Then set for the night and then scrub. This can take out a lot of the burnt on food. If you find these steps don't help in your case, please feel free to call our customer service helpline so we can better assist you.

Q: Does this ceramic coating(Lagostina Bianco) does not burn milk as in other stainless steel cookware sets(Lagostina Padova)?

1 Answer
  • A: Milk should be heated gently and slowly, regardless of what type of cookware you are using. Excessive heat can result in a scorched flavour and/or a film of protein on the top of the milk. Using a double boiler is another method of heating milk, however it should be heated gently and slowly using this method also.

Q: What cleaner can I use to remove oil and discolouration of the bianca ceramic frying pan? I purchased my bianca ceramic pots and pans approximately a year ago. I like the set but my frying pan does not look so well now. I do not clean it after every use so the oil is not coming off. What is the best way to remove this residue?

1 Answer
  • A: Lagostina’s Bianco-Forged ceramic skillets should be thoroughly cleaned after each use to prevent residue build-up. Thoroughly washing in warm, soapy water after each use will remove most dirt and grime. If you have built-up residue you can clean it with lemon juice. If there is still staining, make a paste with water and baking powder. Wait a few minutes then clean with a non-abrasive cloth.

Q: Does the cookware go in the oven with the glass covers? Can we put the cookware in the oven after braising so we can roast without changing the cookware? Do the covers go in as well?

1 Answer
  • A: The Lagostina Bianco White Ceramic Forged Cookware set is oven safe to 400 degrees F. This also applies to the glass covers. Keep in mind sudden temperature changes can result in cookware warping and tempered glass shattering.
