As much as I like using my Lagostina cast iron skillet, I want to keep it for strictly frying. I needed to get another pan to saute foods when using sauces, especially for things like acidic tomato sauces. This braiser is just right because the stainless steel will not react with food that is cooked in it whereas a cast iron skillet would. Since this was on sale and has a lifetime warranty I could not pass it up. It's just the right size for a braiser. The lid keeps food moist. It can be used on stove elements, in the oven, and even as a server. (It's that attractive.) I know I'll get a lot of use out of it.

I have a set of Lagostino pots and pans which I purchased 15 years ago and they are still going strong. I purchased this Lagostino pot as I needed a bigger pot for pasta, it is an amazing product.

As soon as I saw this in the Canadian Tire Christmas catalogue, I knew I had to have it. From the gorgeous hand hammered detailing to its solid performance, I'm super happy with it. And the sale price made it affordable enough to purchase one for myself and my daughter too. I would highly recommend this for all Lagostina and foodie fans!

A: Yes it certainly is. As it is compatible for coil top, ceramic top or gas burners. Just don't over heat it medium high for short time browsing, then medium to medium low for braising. The aluminum core keeps everything perfectly even and the lid keeps everything hot and cooking.

Q: What are the RIVETS made out of? I'm afraid of the Rivets corroding like they have done on a different manufacturer's cookware. That's why I need to know: Are the RIVETS made out of Stainless Steel OR Aluminum OR something else?
