Compact - yes. Touch Lock - no.

It's a fine tape measure but the "Touch Lock" claim isn't really true. If you *squeeze* the side, the tape doesn't retract - there is no "lock."
There is a scale printed on the back that is designed to measure diameters. You wrap the tape around a pipe or cylinder and read off this scale. It's a decent idea, but the tape is concaved metal so it gets a bit janky when bent around a curved shape, so don't count on high accuracy using it like this.
