Not warm enough.

My fingertips were cold within 10 minutes of snowmobiling in -10. Switched to my other gloves and was fine after.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Impossible to dry the inside, after it gets wet.

They kept my hands warm, but after 2 hours of dogsledding at -2C, the 3-finger, 1-finger, thumb mittens were soaking wet inside. Even after washing and drying them in a dryer, the inside was just as wet as when I used them. Further drying over a furnace vent in my home, had very little effect. I do not think you can turn them inside out - but if you could - I think you would risk them never fitting/feeling the same again. But, either way, once these get damp, they just get worse and are IMPOSSIBLE to dry out ... like other reviewers have also said. I bought 3 pairs of Kombi "Lobster" style mittens on clearance. After some surgeries that I had, I noticed that my fingers/hands get cold very quickly. I wanted something functional to keep my hands warm, but I didn't want a full mitten, or a 5-fingered glove. I bought one pair of 2-finger, 2-finger, thumb, lobster mittens for dog-walking on days when it gets below 6C (not that cold, I know). I then bought 2 more pairs of 3-finger, 1-finger, thumb lobster mittens for outdoor activities such as dog-sledding above -20C. All of the mittens kept my hands toasty warm and were functional enough for the reasons that I bought them, that I was initially VERY HAPPY WITH THEM. HOWEVER: The 3-finger, 1-finger, thumb mittens were okay snow-mobiling and dog sledding, but I would not recommend the 2-finger, 2-finger, thumb mittens for any motorized activity other than using your snow-blower, due to the clunky nature of the design. And if you suspect that your hands will perspire enough to soak the mitts, and/or you could get the insides wet from snow, etc., then I suggest you avoid these Kombi mitts.

Not a good design

The finger and thumb do not dry and start to stink. I have a boot dryer with the flex tubes and even when I stick the tubes down to the finger it barely dries. The outer shell is not strong and cracks with casual use, I’m not snowmobiling or anything, just shovelling the driveway. The cuff is nice and long and the straps and elastics work well.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Hands sweat and it takes several days to dry the insides. Label says not to tumble dry.

Questions

1 - 2 of 2 Questions

Q: What is the the thumb guard in this glove? I am looking for a glove to support a skiers thumb injury.  Thanks

1 Answer
  • A: There is extra insulation in the thumb for additional warmth as it is known that thumbs get cold.

Q: Is it windproof? Other Kombi products that are waterproof are, this one doesn’t specifically state it.
