This KitchenAid Variable Speed Corded Hander features an 8" removable blending arm with 4-point stainless steel blade to blend everything from smoothies, to milk shakes, soups, sauces and so much more. It is easy to use with the variable speed trigger switch and includes a US patent-pending removal pan guard to help protect your cookware. Can’t use for longer than 2 minutes

Bought this a few weeks ago and finally used it last night for soup. Blended for about two minutes before the engine failed and the blades stopped spinning. I let the device rest for a couple of minutes, plugged and unplugged, tried again. It failed in under a minute. I figured I was using it wrong - was the soup too hot? I let the soup cool completely for hours before going back to try again, and in less than two minutes it fails again. Took me half an hour to blend my soup due to the device failing over and over again.
Please, this must be a defect right? There’s no way a kitchen appliance should be expected to have a cool down after under two minutes of use? Would like to either replace or return.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This immersion blender is so convenient to use versus dragging out a blender. I am not disparaging other kitchen tools, it's much easier to grab the immersion blender from a drawer and it doesn't clutter my counter.

Why Did I not get One sooner!

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I received this handheld a little more than a month ago. All I can say is why did i not realize bout these sooner. It has replaced my blender and my older regular beater. I have used it to finalize mashed potatoes, made cream of potato soup with it, have made cream of vegetable soup with it. It will not quit either. Even my regular blender had issues making some of the soups.
And handy?? The unit stores in a drawer and the removeable mixer attachment makes cleanup a breeze. Plus using the variable speeds and being able to go right into the pot I used to cook in....

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried it for the first time in the new year and the black plastic protective attachment broke into small pieces thus I have to pour the entire smoothie into the waste. I wasn’t applying undue force and the smoothie was banana, yogurt, cut up dates and milk. I wasn’t expecting a brand new appliance to fail so quickly. Now I use it without the protective cover..other than that, it seems to work fine.
