    Fantastic Cast Iron Pan

I use this pan for baked pasta, for cooking cubes of marinated tofu, for roasting chunks of sweet potato, or for anything else that does beautifully in an open pan in the oven. Because of how the iron holds and transmits the heat, it cooks food more beautifully than glass or other metal, and cleans up easily after. Highly recommend. Have purchased one also as a gift for a friend.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Love this lasagna pan!

Pros: Perfect for cooking lasagna! Nice and deep - and perfect size/shape for three boiled noodles per layer. I don't like covering my lasagna or it gets too soupy - so sometimes I put the cheese on the top halfway through cooking so it doesn't get too browned. Distributes heat great! Handles make it easier to take out of the oven than some of the other pans I've used in the past. Cons: Cost. I use this only for lasagna, but I suppose you may be able to roast other things like chicken or meatloaf in it to help make the cost worth while, as it is expensive if you pay full retail. I have seen this item come up on sale at Canadian Tire every so often so keep your eyes open to the flyer - like we did. I think we got it when it was 60% off or something.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: How do I clean this pan? Can I use dishwashing liquid?

    • A: I don't think those instructions were for these enamaled cookware. for uncoated cast, sure... but these enameled ones won't rust unless you chip the coating off, and that is VERY difficult to do. Even after many years of use, with steel spatulas, my frying pan of same construction is rust free.... and I use the dishwasher all the time.

Q: Does this pan require seasoning before use? It's enameled on the outside, but I am not sure if there is a coating on the inside? Thanks!
