    Elegant Cookware

I recently purchased the KitchenAid 11 piece cookware set as I needed a set for my RV. I put my old pots in the RV and am using the new set in my kitchen. This set is very elegant looking, they appear to be of good quality. I haven't used them long enough to really comment. The only thing I may not like about them is that the rivets (whatever they are called) that hold the handles on, come through to the inside of the pots. They are nicely finished but still I would prefer no rivets on the inside. I probably will not use the fry pan/ skillet as I prefer non-stick cookware for frying.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Thin Steel, Poor QC

For the same price, you are way better off with the Cuisinart MultiClad set. I received this set for christmas one year, and liked them for a while. Eventually I noticed that most of the pots had started to warp and were wobbling on the glass stove, resulting in hot spots. I decided to take them back since they have have a lifetime exchange warranty. When I got my second set, I verified that all of the pots / pans were flat. At this time I also noticed some issues with the quality of the lids (not finished properly (gaps in the metal band), and some of the pot rims were dented. I decided this wasn't a big deal since the bases were flat. On top of this, I reviewed all instructions to make sure were weren't doing anything out of sorts with them (we weren't). Within 3 months, 3 of the pots / pans were warped and wobbling again. I decided to give them back and get some other ones. In my searching I compared the thickness of the walls of these vs. most of the other clad sets available and they were about HALF the thickness. No kidding they were warping when the steel is that thin. If these are in your price range, I cannot imagine a situation where these would be a good buy considering other options (such as the Cuisinart Multiclad), except if you really want glass lids (which steam up and don't let you see in anyway). Skip these, they should be priced much much cheaper than they are.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    seriously fantastic pots!

bought these pots at 70% off. did lots of research prior and was set on having clad cookware. these have nearly all the features that All Clad had, but at a fifth of the price. tested each pot right away against our old Circulon set that we loved and had for 20 years. heat up time was cut in half! we had no idea how long it took to heat up our old Circulon set till i tested it against this set! some reviewers stated getting either a warped pot or one that had rough stamping on the bottom that caused damage to their glass cook tops. ours were perfect and continue to be. only issue is that the pan does stick. it's stainless steel, not non-stick. if i want it to not stick i have to use a lot of oil, which i don't like to do. so got some environmentally non-toxic, non-stick pans to do the trick. still use the pan when making sauces and such, but not for omelettes, etc. seriously my favorite pots of all time. and because it is all stainless steel, i can even use a stainless steel pot scrubber if i have to with no fear of harming the pots. couldn't clean our old Circulon pots with anything besides a soft cloth. and had to always treat and season the pots regularly (which is why they lasted 20 years) glass lids are drop proof. i've dropped a few. no damage at all except one got the inside lip bent a bit. i used to be an ok cook, but now with these pots, i'm Jaques Pepin!!

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Oven safe lids? The write up states the pans are safe in the oven to 500 degrees F. Does this apply to the lid as well?

    3 Answers
    • A: NO! The glass is held in place on the lid by a nylon gasket around the perimeter. The gasket is not oven safe.

Q: I read the review and one said that "they scratch the glass cooking surface" (glass top stove). Is that true?

    • A: The lettering on the bottom was pretty rough on one of the sets I had. It appears that their QC doesn't check these things.

    • A: My handles never got hot unless they were in the stove... probably the best thing about this set is the handles.

Q: How best do I cook with my new KitchenAid 11-Piece Clad Stainless Steel Cookset as well as cleaning tips for it for there longevity? I have always used old pots so I do not want to wreck these, lol.

    • A: The manufacturer suggests: -It is always best to use low to medium heat when cooking, to avoid burning the pan. -Never allow the pan to boil dry or place an empty pan on a hot burner. -Hand-washing is recommended as it helps preserve the cookware’s shine. Dishwashing detergents can be quite abrasive. More detailed care instructions are provided in the use and care leaflet that is included in the cookware set.

Q: biclad vs clad stainless steel What are the pros and cons between the two. Which one is better

    2 Answers
    • A: The "bi-clad" (two-ply) set is not a sandwich design. Tri-ply (this set) is a sandwich (aluminum core between two stainless steel layers). Which is better depends on many factors, so testing would be required.

Q: Do the handles stay cool on the stove top?

    2 Answers
    • A: According to the info sheet posted on the photo section of the Cndn Tire website for this product: The handles are heat resistant and oven-safe up to 500 degrees. So the answer should be that the handles do NOT or should not get hot
