Cast iron pans last forever

Cast iron pans last forever. This is great. Make sure to season it well and then make sure it's always dry after you clean it. Your grandchildren will inherit it.

heavy but good

I have had this for a few years now. I expect I will have to include it in my will. It is heavy, but it is safe to put cubed veggies in, and use in my bbq.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great pan!

I have been using cast iron pans for cooking my whole life. As an adult, I've chosen not to use modern non-stick because of the chemicals used to make them. Cast iron is a much healthier alternative to teflon. I love the fact that I can use it in my kitchen and then throw it into the camping bin when we go camping. It can be used over an open fire, IN an open fire, on the bbq, in the oven, and anywhere else. This pan is big enough to do anything I want, though I also have a smaller one. I love this pan, though the one downside is that it doesn't have a smooth finish. Cast iron pans used to (and perhaps higher end ones still do) come with a smooth as glass finish, which made it non-stick much faster. I've had mine for a few years now and the finish is getting smoother with time and use, but it'll be years before it's as smooth as my other one. All in all, though, I would highly recommend this pan for anyone who is looking for cast iron.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: What's the best way to clean the KitchenAid black cast iron skillets after cooking?

  • A: For stubborn cooked on food: wait until it is completely cooled and then put some water in it to soften any tough spots. Use a plastic scraper or a plastic scrubber brush to scrub clean and then rinse with water. Dry it with a paper towel (so you do not get your tea towels dirty), and then put a bit more oil on the surface if it looks dry or a bit brown.

Thank you.
