These grinders are ok, they look nice and seem sturdy. Can't give them 5 stars as they don't seem to work as well as I'd like. Feels like you have to turn the tops way more than other grinders I've had just to get a sprinkle. I've adjusted them, and there's no difference in grind. I'm hoping with use they might give more salt and pepper with each twist!

A: Nope, no battery needed. Ive had mine about a year and they are working well, the grinding gears on one have gotten a bit loose, I bet it only lasts another year. But acceptable for the price.

A: It came with pink Himalayan salt initially, which I don't believe has any iodine in it. We've consumed the pink salt already, then replaced it with our regular sea salt thereafter. Hope this helps!

Q: Purchased the 7.5 inch Kamenstein S & P Grinder Set. Was wondering if anyone can explain how you adjust for desired coarseness? Also, how do your refill when needed? Thanks!

A: To open this set to refill, unscrew the stainless steel middle piece and the top will come open. To adjust to the level of coarseness adjust using the screw/dial on top of the grinder.

Q: How do you remove & replace the cap for refilling? I got it off with some difficulty and refilled it but in re-assembling couldn't recall or figure out where the thin black plastic circle/disk goes. It worked well before but not since refilling.

A: Thanks Suzanne. Mine has a black plastic screw that was hard to dislodge. I can't find the receipt so now I'm wondering if I have the right brand or if I bought it somewhere else. It looks the same and was about the same price as I recall and I go to CTC frequently so I figured this was it. But maybe not. There is a white plastic interior grinder part and a white exterior grinder part below the black plastic screw that had to come out in order to have space to pour the salt through. A small clear ring fits inside the white interior grinder. A wide black ring pops into the large black top over the white grinder - but it won't stay there. That's the part that confused me. It stays by friction but easily falls out. The whole cap is a bit loose and the grind, which was very good before disassembly is only fine and difficult to work after.
