Jackery Explorer 300 Plus 300/600W 288-Wh Portable Power Station with LiFePO4 Battery

A friend told me about the Jackery product awhile age after a prolonged power outage. Have tried it out and found it to be acceptable. It can even heat a small kettle to make tea in if necessary and good to charge devices like cell phones, iPads, etc. my friend tried a heating pad on hers and it worked to be able to have an alternative heat source if necessary.

Bought this plus the solar panels and was missing a cord can not set it to the panel Very disappointing and went back to try and buy the cord and they do not sell it

So far so good. Very compact ahd easy to store. Not big & bulky. Lightweight.

For what this little unit is supposed to do, it does it well. I took it with me on the road for a couple of weeks to ensure that I would be able to power my electric cooler overnight, and it performed just as I'd hoped. I will note that this unit only has enough capacity to power a compressor-based cooler and not a thermoelectric cooler as the latter uses about 4 times the power, but that's not a knock on the unit itself. The Jackery app also works well, although it provides very little additional functionality for this unit. There's no ability to limit AC charging speed or set time-of-use charging, although on a unit this small, that's understandable. My first issue with this unit boils down to price, as well as a lack of accessories out of the box, accessories that will only increase its costs. The regular price of $419 is simply too high compared to other similarly specced units on the market. The other big problem is that Jackery has removed the DC barrel charging port on this unit. While the addition of USB-C charging is nice and the unit will charge at 100W from that port, it's not a great option for charging on the go, as most vehicles don't have USB ports that can provide more than about 12.5 watts of power, which would take 23(!) hours to charge this unit from empty. Because of the lack of DC charging port, any charging from a solar panel or 12V car charger requires a proprietary USB-C adapter that can only be purchased currently directly from Jackery. If you wanted to buy this unit and a 100W Jackery solar panel both from Canadian Tire in order to be ready for charging this while camping, you'd find your output restricted to 15W as that's the maximum that panel can output from it's USB-C port. While I was using this unit only the road, I had to purchase a 12V-to-USB-C adapter, an additional expense that further deteriorated the value proposition of this unit. Besides poor value, my biggest complaint about this unit can be boiled down to the the fact that it seems like it's not meant to be used on the go without consistent access to shore power of some kind, because the removal of the DC charging port makes it far more of an ordeal to keep charged on the go without having to fork out even more money for accessories. Both problems could have been solved if those accessories were included in the box, but they're not. Because of this, I can't recommend it.
