Other Roomba lasted 10 yrs. Changed batteries but worked well all that time. Not sure for this one.

Significant upgrade from older models

Bought to replace my older Roomba 620, and it is leagues better at navigating. As long as you make sure loose cables and rugs are secured (normal procedure for all robot vacuums), it moves around and cleans fantastic. I like that it doesn’t just bump into things, it uses lidar to map out the room (walls, couches, table legs, etc.) and won’t bump into everything once the room is saved. You can also have separate rooms on separate cleaning schedules, and it will avoid the room if it is not in the schedule. Personally, I prefer to manually empty the bin as then I can regularly inspect the moving parts to insure they are not clogged with debris. The dock is also designed much better and so far this model has always found its way home. Definitely worth the purchase if you want to upgrade from an older model such as mine!

I got this just after Christmas and my only disappointment is that it only works on a 2.4 ghz wifi. I don't think anyone has that as a server these days. I can only use with my phone.

Q: What is the difference between Roomba 105 & Roomba 106? Why is the Roomba 106 not listed on the manufactures website? Why does no one else sell the Roomba 106?

A: Answered my own question. There is no difference between the 105 & 106 except maybe a software update.
