Great versatile pot, very easy to use and clean, I used to have another multi cooker before but I bought this since it has the stainless steel inner pot and not something coated with forever chemicals. Very happy with my purchase, less parts to assemble as other multi cookers, so much easier maintenance. Every food we have tried so far has been a success. Love it!

Q: Can you make crispy fries or brown frozen calamari, fry vegetables? Trying to justify this over a plastic (nope) air fryer or pressure cooker (no fries).

A: While the pot has a sauté function, it is suitable for cooking onions and garlic to caramelize them before adding the rest of your soup or stew ingredients not for making anything crispy. The pot is fabulous for cooking beans, grains, soups and stews. It can act as a slow cooker or pressure cooker. We use ours several times a day. Sounds like you need an air fryer if you want crispy.

A: I have never done canning, so no idea. However, I use both the original and this model for the exact same cooking items. They both work the same, except one has a valve which goes up, then level versus the older one has the valve which goes level, then down. I set the time and press start the same way.

Q: Is this model compatible with the tempered glass lid for 6Qt models? And what is the difference between this model and the original Instant Pot Duo?

A: Hello. Yes, the tempered glass lid is compatible with the Duo V5 model. The V5 has all of the same functions as the original Duo, but it now has the lid with the Easy-Release switch for simple, fast steam release. It also has a white LED display.

A: Hello victoria20. 6Qt Duo V5, does not have the sterilize function, however, you can still sterilize using the Pressure Cook function. It is also compatible with the Instant Air Fryer Lid.
