This pool is great for a family if you are looking for a place to cool off during the hot summer days. It is easy to install and to keep clean. It is shallow, so this is not a pool for adults to swim in, but it is deep enough for kids to swim in. As well it is great quality and size, large enough to fit any floating equipment and many kids.

Q: Can you put less then 2.5 ft of water in the pool? I would like to put only 18 inches for the first year if possible

A: You can only fill the pool to 26". The top 4" is the top floating ring that holds the pool up. 18" might be too little as the water need to reach the inflated ring.

Q: How many inches of water can this hold?
In our township, any pool that contains 2 feet or more of water in depth requires fencing, per bylaw. Would this pool hold 2 feet of water? Or does it max out below 2 feet?
Thanks

Q: how do you inflate this pool?

A: With an air mattress pump. I already had a cheep bellows style foot pump we use on the kids air mattress when camping. It took longer to fill than a couple single air mattresses and I did work up a sweat, but it was doable and I would not buy something just for the pool when I already had something. That said if you don't have a pump already you might want to consider one of the air mattress pumps CT sells in their camping section. They have both 110V and battery operated models.

Q: Can you purchase a solar blanket or cover for this pool?

A: Yes, I have not bought one but I saw it in the store. We went with the debris cover that snugs over top since it is near leafy trees. But both were there and both are linked in the product recommendations below.

Q: Is a fence needed for this pool?

A: Laws vary city to city and your province may have a say as well (they do in Alberta). Regardless of laws you also have the liability factor. If a neighbor kid wanders in when your not home and dies or has permanent injures, guess who gets sued and cant even demonstrate an effort to protect the community from the danger they set up.
According to the CDC:
"Barriers, such as pool fencing, prevent young children from gaining access to the pool area without caregivers’ awareness. A four-sided isolation fence (separating the pool area from the house and yard) reduces a child’s risk of drowning 83% compared to three-sided property-line fencing."
Also:
"Children ages 1 to 4 have the highest drowning rates. In 2009, among children 1 to 4 years old who died from an unintentional injury, more than 30% died from drowning. Among children ages 1 to 4, most drownings occur in home swimming pools. Drowning is responsible for more deaths among children 1-4 than any other cause except congenital anomalies (birth defects). Among those 1-14, fatal drowning remains the second-leading cause of unintentional injury-related death behind motor vehicle crashes."

Q: Can I set this up on a driveway ?
1 Answer
A: Hi Steve, It is not recommended. Almost any completely flat, solid and level surface can be used. Do not use sand as leveling material as it is prone to shift under the pool. The ground should be dug out until it is perfectly level. Do not set up on driveways, decks, platforms, gravel or asphalt. The ground should be stable enough to withstand the weight and pressure of the water. Mud, sand, soft/loose ground and tar are not suitable. To avoid abrasions and tears in the liner, it’s recommended to not drag the pool across the surface. If the pool has to be set up on a lawn, it is recommended that the grass is removed from under and around. The grass will die and may cause odors/slime. Certain types of hard grass can grow through the liner, as can aggressive bushes/plants by the sides or through the pool. Ground cloths are not designed to avoid this situation. So be sure to remove all aggressive bushes/plants from the designed location of the pool and its surroundings before installing it.

Q: Chlorine tabs and our 12" Hyrdo Force Pool
We purchased a floating (in the pool) chlorine tab device.
How many tabs would be needed to properly work with this pool completely full?
How often do we need to add tabs?
1 Answer
A: For small pools, the 1 inch tablet are generally sufficient. Dispensers may hold one or more tablets. Some tablets dissolve faster than others, and need to be replaced more frequently.
