The Hoover® WindTunnel Hush Central Vac System offers the convenience of having a central vacuuming system that reaches virtually every corner of your home. Quiet and powerful, this vacuum features a micro-tex cloth filter that traps duct particles and allergens, as well as an external muffler to reduce noise. The 30 foot hose features a turbo style air nozzle. Includes a 12” floor brush, dusting brush, crevice tool, furniture nozzle and telescopic wand.

not a very good central vac

The vaccum has not performed very well. It does not have that much suction, and you have to clean the filter every 5 minutes. The filter is only small and the least amount of lint or dirt will plug it and the vac loses all it's suction. Would not recommend this central vac.

Low quality

Bought this unit to replace our 20 year old Hoover central vacuum, all though it has good suction, the accessories are low quality and the hose is cheap plastic and tends to kink all the time. Should of returned it and paid more to get a better quality hose, not sure I will Hoover products again.

Worst waste of money

Do not buy this vacuum, mine lasted less than 2.5 years and Hoover found some ridiculous reason not to honor the warranty when the motor burnt out. A 100$ upright will last longer. The accessories are also quite cheap, the light in the carpet attachment only lasted days and the small wheels on it were lost within months only. Biggest waste of money, if you really care for a central vacuum, spend more to get quality that will last, not a central vacuum that has, like the repair man told me, a toy motor.

low suction!!

This vacuum was on sale and i bought it..
what waste of time and money..
after 2hrs installation, i noticed the suction is minimum. i mean literacy did not suck even a light items.
may advice do not buy anything with less than 110 CMF suction power

Q: Why are there so many complaints about poor suction? Same AirWatts as hardwood model - so why some many complaints about this unit not having good suction?

A: Hi K66KK! WE read all those same reviews you did. The WindTunnel Hush is designed to have excellent suction and cleaning power. The only thing that could diminish the suction on this machine is a dirty filter. To check it, you'll need to remove your canister's bin to gain access. Once you do a visual inspection, I'd take it outside or in the garage to tap it clean into a waste basket. Then you should be working like it did the very first time. We recommend cleaning it every few months for best performance. Hope this helps! -Ian, Hoover Customer Care

Q: Is this a good vacuum for shag carpet?

A: Hi! The power nozzles on our central vacs are tested on multiple carpet types-including Shag. While we're confident it would work fine on Shag, we would recommend using a vacuum with a height adjustment feature. Take a look at out WindTunnel 2: http://bit.ly/VQIr76. Q: Can this be installed in a basement? My house is roughed in to the basement. Can this be installed in a basement with no external venting near my furnace/electrical panel? Is external venting preferred if not required?

A: The Power Canister can be mounted in the basement, utility room, garage or any other remote area, except where exposed to weather, and convenient to an electrical outlet. The unit requires ventilation. DO NOT install in a heat producing or confined area such as the attic, furnace room, etc. If desired, the Power Canister can be exhausted to the outside. The top of the Power Canister should be no less than 12” (30.5 cm) from the ceiling, and any corner wall, to allow proper cooling to the motor. For ease of removing the dust container, the bottom of the unit should be at least 18” (46 cm) above the floor.
