...have I gone THIS long without a robot vacuum? Have been tossing around the idea of getting one, but they were either too expensive, felt too flimsy to justify even a sale price, or didn't offer the capabilities I wanted. When I saw this one on special at our local CT, felt beefy when picked up AND it also senses stairs so it doesn't fly down them and destroy itself I grabbed one. To set it up, forget the manual, the one that was in our box was outdated and I suspect the unit's been updated, but the manual has not. You can install the App (specifically "Hoover Quest1000" for this unit) on your phone first, but you'll need to follow the next steps before anything. After fully charging the unit overnight on the dock (the power should be OFF on the unit while charging, in spite of whet the manual says, otherwise you will hear a constant beep from the robot and no response to to the app) and setting it up by 1-accessing the unit's Wi-Fi signal to 2-join our local Wi-Fi (the onboard Wi-Fi name will disappear from your phone settings once it's linked to your home network), it's been a breeze. You have the options to clean rooms (just block exposed cables or it'll eat them, it hates small mats, too), spot clean and schedule cleaning runs using it's on board clock and the app on your phone. You can also send it to it's docking station to charge up (turn unit off when it's docked and you see the charging bars at the top of the robot), although when it's finished cleaning or it's running low on charge it will dock itself. Pros: Spot clean Full clean Scheduled cleaning Dock or no dock chargeability Cons: Frequent emptying of waste reservoir (esp if you have pets) Confusing manual (which is why I tossed mine) Yes, I would recommend this unit to a friend (and already have).

Ran it for a week with no problems, cleans really well, but one day I came home and it had become stuck and simply ran until it started to disintegrate, returned a paid a couple hundred more for iRobot.

I'm a bit of a neat freak. I like my home to be clean as often as possible. In a week I often make good use of my upright and handheld dysons. But ever since the purchase of this robot vac I more often find my home clean with much less need to vacuum. My Application: I live in a 5 level split house with a cat and a toddler. I run the robot vac on all 5 floors throughout the week (about 1 floor a day). I can honestly say this vacuum has exceeded my expectations and I've been excited to tell friends and family about it. recommended. Pros: - Cleans well under couches, cabinets and beds - Cleans well under my dining table around the chairs - Has ok suction (compared to a dyson) - Love its ability to clean along the edge of the floor - Strait forward to use - Easy to clean - Love the auto schedule - No longer need to move furniture to clean - Just fun to have in the home Cons: - Doesn't handle stairs (I don't know of any robo vacs that do)' still will need at least a little vac for that. - Sometimes it get stuck on the corner of my front hall mat (but it knows to power down and alert me when it's stuck) Quality/Cosmetics: really like the look of the unit. Has a black piano finish... gives the impression of a premium product. I find it's cleaning ability to be good. great at getting under our couches, cabinets and beds and I love that it can handle under the dining table without having to move the chairs. Durability: this vacuum has a good weight to it. The wheels feel good and the 2 sweeping brushes appear to be holding up great. Set Up: the vac sits at its docking station until its scheduled start time is triggered or if I just want to manually send it out. Price: I feel I am paying for: the compact size, and automatic cleaning. Another huge benefit that makes it worth the cost is that I no longer need to move furniture to clean I really like it. It cleans well and is fun to have around the home. It has changed my house cleaning habits for the better. I find my home cleaner even though I'm cleaning less often

I really love my Quest 1000. It is truly my little helper. It actually picks up a great deal too. I love that I can be doing dishes or reading to my kids and have my Quest1000 scheduled and pick up the dirt from my floors. It's one extra chore I don't need to do. That's what I love the most. It's such a handy vacuum! It works great, I love how it retreats back to its dock to charge and it's easy to use. Another must have from Hoover.
