Let the Hoover FloorMate® Deluxe Hard Floor Cleaner do the washing and scrubbing for you so you get the gleaming, clean floors you want. Happy yet sad

I've bought 2 so far, each one lasted about 2 years, then broke, with each one having the same issue (soap ejector stopped emitting fluid). Contacted repair, exspensive, new handle system needed. I also had a friend get one and hers also broke. Not sure I want to try a third. When it worked it worked well.

Love the machine, hate the leaking.

I absolutely love this machine except for one thing, the leaking. I love knowing that my vinyl floors are actually scrubbed and that the dirt is sucked up and not just moved around like a mop does. What drives me crazy is that this is my third machine and yet after so many years they have not fixed the leaking. Again, the idea of the machine scrubbing your floors and removing the dirt is awesome, I just would love to see them improve the machine just a bit.
Yes, I recommend this product.

What is happening with these motors?

Why won’t my Floormate last longer than a few months? I have loved the Floormate since they first started hitting the market. My first one was larger and lasted years. Each subsequent one has lasted less and less. I can’t get more than five to six months use out of them any more. This is not an exaggeration. I follow instructions, use only approved solutions and clean it thoroughly between uses. The motor stops working or starts making a horrible noise with a burning smell after about 20 uses on about 1000 sq ft. Currently trying to decide…again…about my loyalty to Hoover. I miss my working machine.

Good Hard floor cleaner

Hoover's Floormate is a good floor cleaner. We have travertine and it cleans quite well.
The only drawback is they only last for 3 or so years.
This is our 5 Floormate Cleaner.

Q: What cleaning solutions are compatible with the Hoover FloorMate® Deluxe Hard Floor Cleaner? Re-asking the question for clarity as the previous response appears to be recommending carpet cleaning detergents to be used on hard floors (instead of hard floor detergents).

A: I do not like the smell of the cleaning solution, so have been using 1/2 cup white vinegar and water. I quite like the "clean" vinegar smell, and it disappears quickly when dry.

A: Hi Melissio69, Thank you for your question. I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the Hoover FloorMate® Deluxe Hard Floor Cleaner. Most likely your unit is set for Dry Mode ; this will raise the SpinScrub™ brushes off the floor. Please ensure that your Mode Selection is in Wash Mode; it will then lower the SpinScrub™ brushes to make contact with the floor for scrubbing action. The Mode Selector is right above your Clean Water/Solution Tank. For any further issues, please kindly contact customer care support line @ 1-800-944-9200. -The Hoover Customer Care Team
