Q: How often do you have to change the filters? How do you know when you need to change them?
4 years agoA: We vacuum the pre-filters about monthly and change them every 6 - 7 months or so because the vacuuming extends the life. We change the hepa-filters yearly. The air purifier is running 24/7 and has made a big difference in our health. So far we have had no problems with the machine which is very quiet.

Q: Are the replacement filter sizes standardized across the industry or is this machine only compatible with Honeywell branded filters?
4 years agoA: They are specific to Honeywell, but you can find cheaper off-brand replacements for the HEPAs and carbons on Amazon.

Q: If I have this on the main floor, will it affect the air on the second level in our bedrooms as well?

If this is set near the stairs, this may also clean air in the stairwell, depending on the air circulation in your house between the rooms. Q: In the advanced Features of the Specifications section on the Canadian Tire website, it says: Remote Control Operated. There is no remote control device with this unit. Did I misunderstand ? Thanks.
a month agoA: No remote control. If you select auto on feature it will detect and adjust speed based on air quality l. This is a great purifier I have 5 in my home.

Q: The machine is quieter for germ mode and louder for general cleaning. Does that mean the air is being filtered better in general cleaning mode?

Germ mode is the best air speed to pull germs through the air to be captured by the filters, and allergen speed is the best to pull allergens through the air to the filters. General clean is a balance between both of those settings. Q: Is the Honeywell HPA5350BC Air Purifier the Canadian equivalent model of the Honeywell HPA5300B that received a "very good" rating in the August 21 issue of Consumer Reports Magazine?
4 years agoA: The pictures of the HPA5300B look identical to the HPA5350BC, and the list of features is the same. They are likely the same product.

Q: Does the Honeywell HPA5350BC Air Purifier create ozone through ionization or any other process? If so, can we turn this feature off?
4 years agoA: This type of air filter does not generate ozone internally. With the use of HEPA filters will actively filter room air efficiently.
