Wood screws and ASTM tolerances

The biggest problem with screws is that they are made on CNC machines with an EDM (electronic metal removal) component. A lot of times, the EDM leaves fragments in the screw head, which results in a Robertson head that doesn't fit your drill bit! They get stripped or if you notice first hand...thrown away. I have found that the CT screws are about 95% accurate.
