It was a few inches taller than the old tank so meant rearranging all the pipes and resoldering. That is not really a comment on the quality of the tank. Time will tell with that. It’s thermostat was set very hot so that had to be turned down but when set it was fine. Turned it off while away for the weekend and when returned it was up to heat in about 90 minutes. All working very well.

Q: Bought space saver 50 us gallon water heater in Ft St John BC last week, I live in Dawson Creek, BC 50 miles away and it doesnt work. Tried replacing bottom element after talking to your tech people no change.

A: Are you wired for 220volts Is your thermostat turned up The elements rotate back and forth so they are not both on at same time. Also check for voltage at the bottom element

Q: i have 1/2 inch copper pipe want to us sharkbite fittings I assume the fitting size on the tank is 3/4 inch so would need 1/2 to 3/4 fitting is this correct

A: You will require a 1/2 inch Shark Bite Flex Hose with the 1/2 inch Shark Bite connector on one end and the 3/4 screw on fitting that goes on the Tank end. Make sure you measure the length of the flex hose from 1/2 inch Pipe to Tank 3/4 fitting to ensure it fits properly.

Q: Do the pipes connect at the top or side of the water heater? Picture only shows something that looks like an exhaust pipe and when you hover over it, it shows a completely different water heater. Hover shows a Spacesave hot water heater.

A: The 40 gallons reference is for Canadian gallons, where each gallon equals 4.56 Lt. The Us gallon is only 3.78 LT, thus the 50 Gallon reference. They should stick to showing on the box and the description of the water heater in Canadian Gallons, or just in Litres, when the product is sold in Canada.
