Great saw

Works great, over 30 minutes of cutting up a branch 16 inches diameter down to 4 inches and still 2 of 4 bars left, never stalled once. Be sure to tighten the chain after a few big cuts as they stretch.

Disappointed With Quality Compared to Other GW Products

Bought this to replace my gas husqvarna but have to return as the first time using it the chain came off the bar within my first 10 cuts on smaller branches. Chain was damaged from the incident and could not put back onto the bar grooves. Kind of sad it didn’t work out because I do own 2 other 60V green works products and love them and the versatile batteries for all / most of the 60V products.

Hi J Winsor. Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear this happened with the chain. The chain will need to be tensioned periodically during use as sawing is a high friction use. Heat causes the chains to stretch and should be checked and tightened as needed. When tightening the chain, ensure to have a dime (coin) space when the chain is pulled away from bar. Fantastic Light Duty Saw

Got this on clearance and so far I’m very pleased after two cutting sessions.
PROS
It’s relatively light and easy to handle
It seems well-made and sturdy
No need to store/deal with gasoline obviously
Comes with a battery and charger, which seems to be getting rarer these days for power tools
Has a chain brake
Didn’t slow noticeably as the battery charge was depleted
CONS
Not so much a con but just a fact – this is a light duty machine. You can’t lean on it too hard. Just let it cut at its own pace and make sure to keep the bar perfectly aligned or the chain will just stop.
The internal fan in the charger is very noisy
Not necessarily a great value at full price
Spare batteries are pricey
Oddly, the owners manual says this saw is not designed to fell trees… But then proceeds to tell you exactly how to fell trees. Weird.

Q: Does this saw need to be sharpened before use and do I need t buy oil assuming chain lube oil is not already in the saw. . also wondering what max diameter logs can be managed by this blade.

A: Hello fisher. Thank you for your questions. The chainsaw is designed for cutting branches and, trunks, logs and beams of a diameter determined by the cutting lent of the guide bar. If you are looking to cut logs with one pass, the log needs to be about 2" smaller than the bar. However, there are many techniques to use a chainsaw for larger cuts. The machine comes from the factory without bar and oil, and our units use a standard bar and chain oil. You can purchase this from your local hardware store; no specific brand name is required. The new chain does not need sharpening before use. Our chains may be sharpened using a 5/32” round file. We hope this information helpful.

Q: I see the saw should not be used in wet conditions. I want to clear brush on our snowshoeing trail. Can it be used in snowy conditions?
