They need a better battery.

I like the unit cause it’s small and easy to use in small spaces but the issue is it sucks if the grass is a bit wet and will clog up very easy. The battery life also is pretty horrible. The battery dies in like 30min and take almost 4hrs to charge it.

No gas, not noise, no cord: I love it! Very light and maneuverable. I was worried that without a side discharge option, it would bog down mulching long thick grass, but it breezed through grass that my 12A corded mower would have struggled with. I have never used the bag.
The bump feed on the trimmer isn't great. It usually takes several tries, but I still prefer it to the auto feed on my old B&D. The trimmer comes configured as an 11". Do yourself a favour and flip the cutter around to make it a 13".
My only complaint is that it should come with a 5Ah battery. The 4Ah battery included is barely enough and sometimes not enough to finish an average sized lawn.

We use information like this and work with the various teams within Greenworks to market, design, and sell the products are customers want or need. The string trimmer must be turned on and you will need to tap the bump knob on the ground to release additional line. Trimmer line of about 1/4" will feed out each time you bump the head. As long the mechanics for the line release are understood and exercised you should have no issues releasing line. This trimmer is equipped with a line cut-off blade on the guard. The line cut off blade
continuously trims the line to ensure a consistent and efficient cut diameter. Advance line
whenever you hear the engine running faster than normal, or when trimming efficiency
diminishes. This will maintain best performance and keep line long enough to advance properly.
This trimmer is currently set at the 11 in. cutting swath. To adjust to a cutting swath of 13 in.:
1. Remove the battery pack.
2. Remove the blade screws then rotate the line cut-off blade 180°.
3. Tighten the blade screw.
Batteries are the costliest items to manufacture and ship in any kit. Full kits including a tool, battery, and charger are priced affordably so that consumers can begin building that line of tools and move forward purchasing tool-only units. When you purchase batteries on their own, it is more notable the cost that they carry. Alternatively additional batteries can be purchased to extend the run time. A: I got this last year and I was quite surprised at how long the battery would last. I would say roughly an hour. I originally bought a spare battery, thinking that one charge would not last to do my whole lawn but I was very wrong. I am going to guess roughly 1 hour. My lot is 40 x 100. We are on a corner with no fence yet so I usually do a lot of the park as well. I do my entire yard, the boulevard by the road and some of the park, use the same battery in the trimmer to do all trimming and I usually have one bar left at the end

Q: My Greenworks CTC #054-5702-2 chainsaw uses an 80 volt #2901302 battery. Can I use this battery on the CTC #399-5438-2 lawn mower / trimmer combo? Can the 60 volt battery supplied with the combo be used as a supplementary battery on my chainsaw?

A: Hello MarkC - Greenworks 80V battery cannot be used with an 60V units and vice versa. Greenworks manufactures a range of voltage platforms from 24V - 80V, each voltage platform has its own set of interchangeable tools and battery but are not interchangeable across different voltage platforms. Only Greenworks batteries, chargers and machines of the same voltage are compatible and interchangeable with one another.
