Globe 6-Outlet Outdoor wifi Power Stake with 5-ft Cord, Compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, Green

Bought Globe smart plugs for all of our outlets for Christmas this year and this stake while amazing with 6 plugs will not turn on or off with the routine setup. It’s less than 40 feet from my wifi router but you need to stand within 5 feet of the power stake to turn it on or off in the app. It’s ridiculous ! Have contacted their customer service but it’s just email back and forth. Returning this and going back to old school $20 Noma timer.

Quality is very low.

Requires very very strong wifi connection not good for large house or yard where signal may be weaker. Placed in location with strong wifi (-50 to -60 dBm measured on phone), stake plug continually disconnected and quit working. The stake plug details reported around-80dBm signal strength in the same location--that's at least 20 times less reception than my phone. For a device that's supposed to be used outside where wifi is likely to be weaker this doesn't work well. Further, rather than simply reconnecting when wifi improves every time the device looses connection it goes offline and stays offline until it is unplugged or reset and reconnected. This happens about every week. I had a long email conversation with globe customer support they did not seem surprised at the poor connectivity. They simply said that is supposed to have worse reception than cell phone due to less expensive components, that it will get disconnected if network is unreliable, and there was nothing they could do. They just suggested I buy a wifi extender and refused to take the device back. I'd return it to CT but unfortunately don't have packaging anymore. I never dreamed it would have such poor performance this close to the router. So buyer beware, you need to have a really really strong wifi signal for this to work. And it's not robust, if it loses connection you've got to go fiddle with it to get it reconnected. Other than that, IF it stays connected it seems to work fine l find, is just not a very outdoorsy outdoor plug and can't venture far from the house. Just more hassle for me. $50 paper weight.

So far - excellent - easy to pair with phone (Alexa) and now I can control my Christmas lights on/off with ease

I bought two of these for our Christmas lights two months ago. One is still working, the other one shorted out. Obviously, I uninstalled that one as well. For $50, I was expecting a quality product that I could use year after year. Instead, I'm worried about a fire hazard.
