Not very good

I did some background checking on this knife, on several different online sites as it was on sale for less than 1/2 price at CT. I read about some poor QA on Gerber's part, but thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. Upon opening the package, the knife appeared to be fine, a little stiff but blade was centered properly and no blade wobble, However, pretty well all the problems folks mentioned in the reviews were spot on. The Evo was stiff out of the package, but loosened up over the first few hours of playing with it. However, while trying to overcome the stiff action and getting the blade to flick open, the liner lock would travel over to the far side and wedge itself between the blade tang and the liner, requiring considerable force to free it up. As long as I "babied"the deployment, the liner lock would line up properly. Then, I noticed that the blade was now off center and actually scrubbing against the left liner, quickly wearing off the blade coating. The pivot adjuster appeared to be behind the clip but neither a t6 nor a t7 would fit properly (t6 too loose, t7 too tight) to remove the clip, not to mention that the screws (all of them as a matter of fact) were so tight that any kind of attempt to loosen them would strip the heads. Finally, I noticed that the blade now had pronounced horizontal play and that was the final straw. I tried to like the knife but the very poor fit/finish and quality, was just not at all satisfactory. All of this after around 3 hours of playing with it and I never even cut anything with it. I returned it the next day and bought another companies' knife and had no other issues.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Good Buy

Pros Came pretty sharp, feels real sturdy, good ratio of straight blade to serrated, opens nicely with thumb stud. Cons. Finish wears on blade pretty quick, the bottom 2 screws on the handle do not counter sink, finish on clip is wearing off, the finger flip is poorly executed, liner lock is a little on the stiff side. In summary its a nice little knife, but with the listed feature of "finger flip" i was expecting it to open fully to the lock position with ease using one finger similar to a kershaw **note this knife is not spring assisted.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Good EDC knife

For me this knife has the perfect weight and size for EDC. Its not too wide, just long enough (for EDC). And clip pocket is deep. I find it plenty sharp, can shave my arm hairs and cut paper.

Yes, I recommend this product.
