GEARWRENCH ratcheting tap and die I handle systems are perfect for the master mechanic or machine Shop. The set comes with blow molded case for safe and organized storage. A 5 degree ratcheting arc with reversible lever eliminates hand over hand turning. Twist Lock guide system reduces back walk of die guide extension adapters providing access in tight confined areas. The length of tap and die system can be extended by combining adapters and any 3/8 drive extension. Tap holders tilt down for easy access keeping taps secure and organized. The die adapter works with round and hex shaped dies. Tap and die sizes include 4-40 to 3/4 and 3 mm to 18 mm sizes.

  • Ratcheting T-handles wind dies with a 5° swing arc

    Random assortment of taps

    As far as I know, this is the most comprehensive tap and die set you can buy anywhere, but it is still a random assortment of taps just like all the others. Some sizes have through taps, some are plug, maybe both. Not one bottoming tap in the whole set. I still reccomend this set because it comes with an okay amount of stuff to be a starting point, but youre still gonna have to fill in the gaps through the McMaster-Carr catalogue if you want plugs and bottoming taps for every size you need. The one star review extends to every tap and die set on the market, they're all like this

    This is without a doubt, the best tap and die set I've ever used!! Yes the ratcheting handles are great, but I'm talking overall quality!! I'd take this set over the more expensive and lower quality Hanson/Irwin set ANYDAY!! For the price you get a very diverse and good quality set!!!

    I have gotten so much mileage out of this set. Beyond the legitimate uses of the product, I've found it endlessly useful for chasing / cleaning threads and repairing damaged threads. It gives you a great confidence when doing repairs to know you're doing something "the right way" instead of merely getting something to work "good enough". With this set, there are a lot of projects I've been able to tackle that I otherwise wouldn't, and projects where I can affect more professional work than prior. In four years, the set has never let me down and only once did I run into a size / pitch combination that the set did not cover. Money well spent.
