If I do not have this water filter in, the water tastes like dirt. Once it is in, it tastes great.

So much better than lugging bottled water around, not to mention cost savings and reducing plastic bottle waste (even though we recycle) etc.. Make sure adequate water pressure in your household.

FQSVF Water Filter Defect

We love our water GE water filter. But occasionally we encounter defective filter replacements (FQSVF). To determine if the filter is defective, set the old and new filter side by side, with the outside alignment marks at 12 and six, as shown in the attached picture. The note the placement of the raised inner tabs within the circle of small holes. A bad filter has tabs at 12 and six, whereas a good filter has tabs at three and nine. Correct tab placement is needed for depressing the button in the water filter receptacle.
