These are pricy compared to suing a regular CFL, so if you don't mind the look just use those. Otherwise these look better in the pot lights

Really good but not for winter.

I bought 2 of these bulbs for our outdoor motion detector. They aren't overly bright but I only need the light to see the walkway and not wake the neighbors across the street. The one other issue is mainly because they are florescent bulbs and the start up is incredibly slow in cold weather which I fixed by setting the distance on the motion sensor to trigger when I enter the driveway. I'd definitely recommend these to anyone if all you need is lighting to see where you're going.
