Worked amazing for 10 years and still going strong
a year ago
I bought this 10 years ago. It works so well and gives off so much heat. I wanted to buy a second. So I typed in the model number and found it available here. I was shocked that it had such bad reviews because that has not been my experience at all! I have use it every night, year-round in the basement, for 10 years.
Yes, I recommend this product.

One winter wonder!
Worked well for the first winter about four months,
also two and half months in the second winter.
Then stopped working all of a sudden. I am glad I bought it when it was on sale for 50% off. Otherwise it would be totally disappointing.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Take it off the market

Few words can say "it was a waste of time to purchase" The heater had the "FF" code out of the box. My mistake, I didn't read the reviews till after I bought.

Waste of money

I bought this without reading reviews which is something I don't normally do but I have a Noma heater at home which looks exactly like this one, so I bought it. It would only heat up for a min or two then shut down. Took it back to the store and exchanged it for another one... same thing! Piece of junk.

A: This should be called what it actually is not what the manufacturers are trying to lead you to believe. This is actually a Delay timer If the timer is set in while off it will delay delay the heater turning on by the amount set. If the timer is set while on it will delay the off function of the heater by the time set 1/2 hour intervals with a maximum of 24hrs. This is not a 7Day clock it works once until you set it again!

Q: Can someone please explain the icons for me?
Triangle is?
1, 2, 3 heat wave things are?
Circle with leaves or something inside?
I don't have a manual.

A: The triangle is the modes, Eco mode to save energy. 1 2 3 is high, med, & low temp settings.
That cicle is the energy saving mode.

Q: is there any way to get this to heat up properly
when you set the temperature to 22 for example the unit display reaches that way before room temp does. with the sensor on the unit how can you heat a room unless you crank it to 35 degrees and leaveit there..thanks for your time anyone

A: We had to use two heaters in the room , not even a large area to heat. They seem to keep the temp. more accurate.

Q: I am sorry ... but your answer to how to set the temperature DOESN'T work. Please provide useful directions on how to set the temperature.
When you push the MODE button, the only thing that happens is that the machine switches between the four watt settings (lower, medium, high and energy saving).
So ... please provide directions based on the Garrison Black Oil-filled Heater.
Thanks

A: Setting the temperature is near impossible because the unit itself is faulty - the thermometer is in no way accurate. If you still have it (you haven't returned it yet?!), set it to 30 degrees. It will keep your room at about 21.

Q: Is the temperature in the blue display the ambient temp.
If we leave the main switch on , does the heater shutt it off when it reach it`s temperature .

2 Answers
A: Yes, it's the ambient TEMP. It will depend on which heat setting you choose. The unit will turn off at HIGH and LOW setting and remain the room TEMP in energy saving mode when the room setting TEMP is reached.

Q: WHAT IS THE "FF" CODE THAT APPEARS AND THEN THE HEATER SHUTS OFF? IS THERE ANY FIX FOR THAT?
1 Answer
A: FF means the heater is overheated. When the temperature indoors is well over 120°F, the “FF” code appears and then the heater shuts off.
Solution: Unplug and wait for the temperature to reach below 120°F before starting up the heater normally.
