It's winter now, so I bought it because I heard that it is a very good garden hose reel. It was also on Clearance at 50% off and for a high end product it was a great gamble. I have started to replace my yard & garden products with Gardenia and have not regrated my decision.

Q: I use this with the Gardena Flex 5/8" hose system, 50' lengths. The connectors on the hose are too large in diameter to fit through the reel, rendering it useless. Am I missing something?

A: The only way for the connectors to fit through is to unravel the hose, up to the guide, then remove it from the guide, while the water is still off.
