      Great axe , basic style , reliable , if you break it you can replace handle . Little pricey but so is everything that is well made.

      A decent axe for the price. Make sure the handle has straight parallel grains for the entire length. Know how to file and sharpen it to suit the intended use. Don't buy any axe unless you are prepared to do this or learn if you dont how.

      Q: What grade of carbon steel is used; 1045, 1050, ? Also where is the axe head made ( country of origin) ? Is the cutting edge hardened? Thanks in advance.

      • A: The grade of steel is 1045. The axe head is forged and tempered for hardness. The axe head is made in China but the tool is assembled in Quebec, Canada.
