We have a 16 ft pool and this heater helps out a bit with raising the temperature slightly. The hoses that come with the heater are grossly inadequate to hook it up to your pool. They should be supplying two 12-foot hoses. We did have to go out and purchase our own hoses or we would never have been able to use this heater. It would also be nice if the front end had wheels or something as this is sitting on our lawn and we would like to move it when we cut the grass.

An 'alright' heater

This heater works, but doesnt produce appreciatively warm/hot water like our existing heater, possibly because there is too much water flow through it. Between the 2 heaters, we were able to raise the water temperature to 29° (C) on a 28° day. Ot is 'alright. May work better with a more resteicted water flow...

A: The unit needs to be in the sun in order to heat the water and needs to be close enough to the pool to use the pool hoses.

Q: is this solar heater ok for a 3500 gals pool.what temperature can i expect.

A: I currently have it attached to a 7500 gal pool and it seems to be working. Anything hooked up that heats the water will work. Currently the highest temp in our area was 22C and the pool heated that day to about 18C. It will obviously never get above the air temp but it will help heating the pool and stay warm.

Q: Does this work with 12 foot bestway? Without getting any other attachments for it ?

A: If the pool is 10,000 gallons or less then yes one unit with work with your pool. The unit does come with attachments that will work with a bestway pool.

Q: The product description says it works with up to a 1.5 HP pool pump. I just brought it home and the box says up to 1 HP. Ours is 1.3 HP, will it still work or should I return it?

A: In my experience, it is working well with a 1.5 HP pump (Hayward Power Flo II Item #VL2285) in conjunction with a solar blanket. That being said, I have a sand filter (Carvin 16 Inch Laser Series) after the pump before the SolarPRO Curve Solar Pool Heater. (pool->pump->filter->heater->pool). The only issue that I've had is with the feet/arms used to hold the unit on an angle to the sun. They broke after about a month and a half, and I had to prop it with a cinder block. Please note, this is a piece of blow moulded dark plastic, that passively heats up via the sun, and water warms as it passes through it to your pool -there are no heating elements, or solar cells etc.

A: The unit comes with 2 small hoses that connect to the unit itself. It does not come with pool hoses or filter hoses.
