Size discrepancies !!!

The 12' x 10' awning was not the size advertised by CTC. It was actually a 11' 5" x 10' as per the box label it came in. The brochure for assembly instructions referred to it as a 11' 6" x 10'. Due to the size difference from the one that we were replacing (12' x 10'), we needed to locate different anchor points for the brackets.

Q: My exterior wall is 12 feet but indented in the middle by 6 feet. Does the awning attach to the wall on the ends or in the center?

Q: How is it installed to the wall of the house if there is siding? Also, how much space is needed for mounting between the top of the window and the start of the soffit

A: We installed it on our exterior brick wall. As that side of the wall has two stories, we installed the awning right in middle between 2 floors, it is no where near the soffit.

Q: Can this be installed onto the fascia?

A: The contractors I had would not mount it to the fascia because there is not enough support. I had enough room under the eve and over the patio door to mount a 2 X 8 ( to the framed wall) then they lag bolted it to that. We have had no problems. There is a lot of stress when it is out.
