Our Canadian Tire Experience

My wife originally ordered the coloured lights and was sent a clear set by mistake. This happens. She called customer service and Nicole said, don’t worry, return them to any Canadian Tire and you’ll get your money back, even if it’s a final sale Christmas item.
We walked over to Bay and Dundas with the lights and all receipts and they were not only very rude to us there (particularly the customer service lady) but they refused to help us in any way or suggest a way to resolve the issue aside from telling my very pregnant wife and I to go to another store in North York and try our luck there.
I called customer service back and we spoke with Eric, who was super helpful and gave us the above reference number. HE gets five stars. Hopefully the issue will be able to be resolved our money will be refunded as he promised. The additional set of coloured lights we also had to buy work well. Thanks for your time.

Lights are nice when they work

This string of lights have 4 bulbs with a larger socket that act as a diode. They are located at the begining halfway and the end an can be identified when you see 3 wires entering the socket. When they fail a whole section of lights will not light up. You can't buy a larger replacement bulb so you just have to throw out all of them making unescessary e-waste.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: If one light burns out, does the whole string go out?

A: Just make sure to change the dark bulbs when you can. Since the filament is replaced by a short when a bulb blows, the voltage across each bulb in the rest of the string goes up slightly, making it more likely that other bulbs will burn out if you get too many blown bulbs on a string.
