Q: Would these be suitable for a exercise floor in a garage? Was wanting to exercise in the garage and was wondering if these would be suitable flooring? Slipping on mat (slippery when wet) and the mat slipping on the concrete floor, and durability are the main concerns.

Q: Are they good for outdoor use (like balcony floor)? I'd like to lay tiles to cover the concrete floor on my balcony. I wonder if they are durable for outdoor weather.

A: I used these on a 10'x10' area on my concrete patio that my 2 large dogs use. They play rough, and still the tiles stood up very well. Same goes for exposure to the sun. If you're merely walking on them (NOT with stiletto shoes!), I'd say NO PROBLEMO! I brought them inside for the winter but only after they'd throughly dried on both sides. They hose down and clean up very easily. Just FYI, the wind can catch a corner and toss them…

Q: I just purchased the grey "For Living" foam tiles (4 x 2 ft x 2 ft per package). Can I put them directly on top of my varnished hardwood flooring in the main floor den? Will the tiles leave a stain or discolor the hardwood floor?

A: It is possible that the foam tiles can stain hardwoods, just like carpeting or area rugs can if they are left for long periods of time. It is recommended to move the tiles around intermittently to avoid the foam staining the floors

Q: Has anyone had issues with the off-gassing from these mats? bought a month ago, upon opening the odour was v strong, got a headache, left outside to dissipate, still v strong smell

A: Occasionally, the foaming agents used in the manufacturing process need to be aired out for a few days in order for the foam to off-gas. After that, they should be fine. If they are still off-gassing after a few days, then they should be returned for an exchange.
