Q: Do I need to keep the drainage pipe plugged in all of the time? If not, will it shut off by itself so it doesn’t overflow? We’re in a heat wave of 40 degrees c right now and I find my thing overflowing while I’m sleeping at night due to the high humidity.

  • A: It is ac mode and dehumidifier mode. Dehumidifier mode needs the overflow tube on. We do not have high humidity and use just ac mode and just drain it here and there weekly with little water coming out.

Q: Does the fan stay on once the air conditioning stops? I would like to purchase an air conditioner where the fan continues to blow so that the disruption in noise os not too obvious.

  • A: Sorry I can’t say for sure. This unit was purchased as a gift for my mother-in-law. As such I’m not sure if the fan does run constantly. I spoke with her and she says she usually turns it off once the temperature is to her liking.

Q: Has anyone figured out how to clean/vacuum the bottom air intake? Looks like the entire back panel needs to come off or cut the plastic grill off and replace with a filter that is cleanable. I can see the bottom is clogged but can not clean

  • A: This is why I'm here. Below in quotes is the only other answer I've seen here aside from the useless one, and I'm afraid it's probably correct. For immediate relief I (gently) used a flathead screwdriver to clean some of it. Unless I find some magical reason for it when I take the screws off, it looks like it's just a case of bad design. “A: There are 2 air intakes, but only the top appears to have a pop off filter screen that should be cleaned when it looks dusty. Looks like 6 screws to remove before delving deeper inside. Mine unit has one summer of daily use and the filter has been vacuumed once.”

Q: I just got this today and it keeps turning off every 10-15 minutes and the temperature only goes up to 30 which is not cold enough. I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong. I reset it and everything. Can you tell me what I can do to fix this
