I have a different purpose for it

I have melamine workbench countertops in my work shop. I primered them with a shellac based primer, then painted them with the EZ Liner. I now have a very durable satin black textured surface which, unless seriously abused, resists scratches and scuffing.

Don't waste your money

Purchased 3 cans shook them well. First can got half way threw and the nozzle plugged. The second and third cans plugged after just a couple seconds. Tried clearing them and just made a mess.. started blotching and plugged again. What a mess.. I agree with some others! Never again to purchase this. Just over 70 bucks and now a real mess on my hands. Ruined the project I was working on.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Does it work on a plastic or ABC Plastic?

  • A: Proper surface prep would be important. Hard plastic like ABS would need a very roughed up surface to bond to

  • A: I believe it is supposed to be applied/sprayed when over 15degrees. Warm day is needed. Also, I found one can can do a tailgate with two thin applications and not more.

Q: How many cans to line a standard truck box?

  • A: Lots. I would recommend the roll on bed liner kit from the same brand. The spray is just a flat black that doesn't even match the rubberized roll on stuff.

Q: Hi, I would like to apply this to painted metal fenders on my vehicle. There are a few spots of surface rust that I will grind to bare metal the rest will just sanded. Should I apply a primer to the bare metal spots and what type of primer

  • A: Hi, if I was going to cover a part of my vehicle, I would sand the rusted area, clean with a thinner to remove oil, grease, dust, and dirt. Then, I would prime the area with a rust inhibitor primer. Next, sand the primed area with 220 paper, wipe with thinner, and then top coat it with a color match paint. Once dry, lightly sand the area you wish to coat with EZ Liner. Allow each process to dry properly before proceeding to the next step.

Q: Hello.. can this product be used on the bottom of a kayak to protect it from scratches from dragging it on sandy/rocky beaches?

2 Answers
  • A: It’s a pretty durable product, and easy to apply. I would use it for this application, it’s not going to be a smooth finish and this might give a little more drag on the water, but for protection against rough surfaces it will work well.

  • A: No. It won’t stay adhered. Run a wire wheel on a drill first, or sandblast it.
