Gift that lasts for years

I have had an Excalibur dehydrator for several years now and I love it. This recent purchase was for my daughter and son in law who are into preserving food (canning, freeze drying and dehydrating). They have a dehydrator but it is smaller and has stacked trays. Although the dehydrator works, the Excalibur to me is more user friendly and convenient. My daughter was very happy with this gift 9-tray model with the glass doors.

Great machine

I got the 9 tray after reading reviews on reddit where people bought and broke multiple cheaper versions only to end up buying the 9 tray in the end. I skipped all the cheaper machines and got the 9 tray. So far I've made 3 batches of 7lb jerky strips. This machine is not techy but I like it. I feel like this machine will last a very long time. Easy to clean, maintain, and operate. Expensive yet worth it!

Addendum to previous review.

To add to my previous review -
1. The head space on the top tray is less than all the other trays. It should be the same.
2. The location of the timer and temperature knobs on the top back of the unit is unfortunate. Also unfortunate is that I can't find a better place to put them.
3. The color of the markings on the temperature and timer knobs is hard to see. It should be white for better contrast.

An excellent investment!

I have dreamed about having an Excalibur dehydrator for years. I have had mine for a few weeks now. I find this dehydrator to be a Workhorse. I've heard from several other friends who also have one that they wouldn't have any other dehydrator but an Excalibur. Everything that I have dehydrated has turned out very well. I've learned a lot because I'm also drying almond nut mash. It took some experimenting. Overall I'm extremely pleased and highly recommend an Excalibur dehydrator.

Fantastic! Had a 5 tray but wanted to do a mega blast 💥 of persimmons and fruit this holiday season so borrowed a 9 tray fell in love with hers! Ordered one of my own! Like a convection oven, having the fan speeds the time by 60-75% of the time! Treat bags for kids, snacks etc on the run, healthy foods n and easy to use, wipe clean and store back in the original box. Great product, works well. Would only buy this brand!
