Two of the three canisters connected to the nozzle properly and made a good level of noise for my needs (small boat). The third canister was empty. Unfortunately I needed a working air horn right away so could not return the package.

Q: Are these air horns a one time use? Looking for something other than bear spray.

A: Perhaps a bit late, but I did some extensive research several years ago. There was nothing conclusive, but in close quarters an air horn would seem to essentially trigger the fight or flight response in a bear.

Q: Does the cartridge only emit sound once and then you replace it OR can you get a number of blasts out of a cartridge?

A: Thank you for your inquiry. If you have the 100 g air horn cans, they emit approx. 100 short 1/2 second blasts or 50 1 second blasts.
