Electrolux Coffee Maker, 12-Cup

I've been very pleased with the coffee produced by my Expressionist coffee maker. Unfortunately, the water tank on the back is pretty fragile as it shattered when I dropped it. Is it possible to purchase a replacement tank?

I enjoy this coffee maker. There are a few issues. The first being the water filters. I think it irresponsible to sell this item and not the essential water filters. (that is on Canadian Tire and not the product itself) There have been more than one accassion where my counter has had inexplicable amounts of water on it, precisely where the coffee maker sits. As it does not happen all the time, my guess is, there was something off in the way we ran it those times. I like the brewing options, and the versatility of the coffee pot. I find that it keeps my coffee warm for quite a long time - though I do drink my coffee black so perhaps that makes a difference. Overall, quite pleased with this item - other than the fact that the filters are very difficult to come by - and SO EXPENSIVE when you do find them. Long term- this is a costly item, and there are much better brands of coffeemakers that are well designed, sleek and cost effective.

Bought this beautiful looking coffee maker a year ago. Within 4 months it started brewing slowly. At first, it started to brew pots of coffee in about 10 mins. After the 4 month break-in, an 8-cup pot of coffee would take roughly an hour to brew. By the time the water was emptied from the reservoir, the coffee tasted over-brewed, burnt and bitter. We have hard water, so we thought it needed cleaning. Consulted Electrolux for their recommended cleaning methods. Performed all recommended cleaning methods, which proved ineffective. After complaining to Electrolux about the problem, they kindly sent us a replacement machine under warranty. Another 4 to 5 months go by.... and guess what? Yep, the exact same problem. I don't know about you, but taking an hour or more to brew a pot of coffee is not acceptable. Now let's talk about the Electrolux exclusive charcoal water filters that fit this machine. YOU CAN NOT FIND THEM OR BUY THEM ANYWHERE (EVEN ONLINE). Canadian Tire doesn't even sell them, and they sell the machine. How does this make sense? The only place to buy them is directly through Electrolux's customer service line (which is a maze of operators to get to the correct human) who will sell you them for $40 CAD + shipping for 4 filters! I highly discourage the purchase of this very pretty, yet highly dysfunctional product.

It looks good, but it does not keep the coffee warm enough. Bad engineering: 1) the button at the bottom: when you move the machine accidentally you touch a button 2) the sensor in the lid is too sensible. You really have to close it good to start the brew 3) the water tank is difficult to put in place 4) the water tank lid is not attached to the tank In the end, I am having a lot of problems. It really does not worth the money
