Works but No Insulation

Good fitting to replace an existing Dundas Jafine dryer vent cover that wasn’t designed to close. This should work better for winter. Taking off one star as it doesn’t come with any insulation/foam.

I purchased this exhaust cap as my house of over 20yrs needs to have it replaced on the outside. The process to replace it requires 4 screws and some outdoor caulking and voila!! Simple fix to avoid unwanted guests in your dryer vent!!

A: It is round 4 inch on the back side of the vent cap. 4 inch flex pipe fits on with a clamp

A: For some reason, my galvanized exhaust pipe had to fit INSIDE the ring and not outside with a clamp. I had to use duct tape (this was for a bathroom exhaust vent and not a clothes dryer).

Q: Do they flap in the wind? I have a similar (cheaper quality) vent to this with 3 flaps. In a breeze, they flap and make quite a bit of noise. When it is really windy, they are very loud. Does this particular vent minimize the sound somehow or can you suggest another product?

A: Not likely. I personally have and have installed around 100 of these in my work and not once have I heard or had a customer say their was flapping.

A: The outside dimension is 17.28 cm (Height) x 15.875 (Width) and the Exhaust Cap attaches with both Screws and Caulking.

A: The outside dimension is 17.28 cm (Height) x 15.875 (Width) and no this Exhaust Cap does not come with a metal or plastic screen to keep animals out. The reason for this is because the Exhaust Cap is designed for use with Dryers and having a screen would cause Lint to build up which could be dangerous. However, Item # 064-3166 (VPN # PBH50WZW) is designed to prevent unwanted pests from entering the Duct or Home.

Q: Can mice enter? We recently purchases a stucco home in the country that has these dryer vents. Can mice get into these? We constantly see mouse tracks on our deck and are concerned that they might be able to enter via this vent? Anyone know if they are mouse proof?
