Dundas Jafine ProMax™ exhaust hoods feature a robust wide mouth cap for optimum airflow and a snug-fitting backdraft damper that helps to prevent cold air, snow or rain from entering the home. The damper has been redesigned for superior noise reduction. Additional features include a removable pest screen that allows for easy cleaning of the duct, as well as a snap on, pipe-to-cap assembly that eliminates the need for lint trapping staples.

    I bought this vent hood not for a standard cloths dryer exhaust vent but an exhaust vent for a small 24vdc muffin fan used to vent batteries on my solar system. The weatherproof and rodent proof hood is what attracted me to the product. Whether the fan would be strong enough to open the flapper was to be seen. It ends up the flapper is balanced well enough that is opens adequately when fan is on and makes a positive seal when the fan is off. I recommend this product.

    Great product but not everyone needs the whole kit.

    Yes , I bought this item but returned it a couple days later. I did not need the pipe that came in the box with the vent cover. Home Hardware sells the same cover separately so I bought it instead. The cover was easy to install and works great ! I did ask my Canadian Tire store if they could order just the cover for me before I returned it but they said no , only comes in the kit.
