Q: Just attempted install of coupler. Everything is right except the bolt holes are too close together and not big enough for my old bolts or to match the holes already on the trailer. I need 3" centers. What are the centers on this model?

Q: What size bolts are required for this outlet?
2 years agoA: Thank you for your question on this REESE Towpower Dual-Fit Coupler. Per the instructions, the preferred method is to use (4) 3/8 In. bolts through the side holes and torqued to 15/20 Ft.Lbs. An alternate method is to use (2) 3/8 In. grade 5 through bolts and locknuts providing they can be torqued to at least 20 Ft.Lbs. without excessive deformation of the coupler or the trailer tongue. Caution, after installation is complete, check that the coupler operation has not been impaired in any way.
