Good for slicing, making straight cuts and slots in all kinds of metal, like hardened steel, sheets metal or aluminum. The cut-off wheels feature a 15/16 In. (23.8 mm) wheel diameter and 0.04 In. (1.0 mm) thick blade making it ideal to cut, groove, and trim a variety of metals, thin wood, or plastics; can also be used to make slots in rusted or stripped bolts and screws. For use with the 402 mandrel only. Pack of 20 wheels.

So you like grinding?

Good quality for the price, don't last particularly long when grinding steel at high RPM but at least fairly resistant to breakage as long as you don't bend them. Probably no better than no names but definitely not any worse.

Q: What is the difference between these and the 36 piece set? These have virtually the same description as #54-4705-2, and the same price. What makes them worth more ($0.58 each vs $0.32)? Is this one thicker/stronger/coarser/made from a different material?

A: Item 544705 is a 36 pack of cut off wheels, each wheel is 0.025” thick and are designed for thin precise cuts. Item 544706 is a 20 pack of cut off wheels, each wheel is 0.040” thick and designed to last longer in thicker materials.
