The DWE357 Compact Reciprocating Saw has a powerful 12 Amp motor with a variable speed trigger to deliver up to 3,000 strokes per minute with a 1- 1/8-inch stroke length for fast and efficient cutting in heavy-duty applications. Compact in length at 14.5-inch and lightweight it can make cuts in confined spaces like between studs. DEWALT Reciprocating Saw also features a keyless, lever-action 4-position blade clamp for quick and easy blade changes in four directions for a variety of applications including flush cutting and a bright LED light to illuminate dark work areas.

Totally worth it

I need a new reciprocating saw so I give this a try. Very satisfy with this. Got the power I need to do job much faster. Easy to handle and compact. My only regret is not to get this earlier. I don’t miss my old broken reciprocating saw at all.

Saw died on first use!

Just opened the box, absolutely brand new saw, went to make my very first cut on a 2x4 and literally within 30 seconds - smoke came out of the motor and it stopped running. Now when you press the trigger all it does is make a buzzing sound. BRAND NEW and saw is DOA!

My old reciprocating saw died so I've been following products and sales. Cordless may be handy but can't match the speed and power of a corded saw. I bought this on sale, so that helped. DeWalt is still a decent product and this seems to be built better than most of the stuff out there - especially store brands. This is my first compact saw and I can see why they're so popular. Weight distribution is good and it's easy to handle one-handed if you need to. Four blade positions make it pretty flexible. Most importantly, it just works. It cut through an old rusty exhaust pipe quickly. Wood is rarely a problem for any saw but metal seems to challenge lesser tools. This thing did what I needed it to and in good time.
