Powerful drill, but the "e-clutch" is NOT a clutch

I bought this drill because it is a MEDIUM speed (1200 RPM) VSR drill with excellent torque. It has built-in overload protection which prevents motor from burning out due to repeated or sustained stalling (some people are just too STUPID to use power tools). OTOH, DeWalt's use of the word "clutch" is misleading, implying it will reduce torque BEFORE binding, which it does not! Only mechanical clutches can do that, but even then, their purpose is mostly to avoid pinning your hand against something until you release the trigger! Always use the aux handle for maximum safety...especially when binding is possible!

    Yes, I recommend this product.

I bought this drill to use primarily with a 2 5/8 hole saw. The drill does not have a clutch and if it does it has never activated for me. Both myself and my colleagues have smashed their knuckles really badly. I am a huge dewalt fan and own a pile of their XR tools, but this drill is aweful.

No, I do not recommend this product.

The title says that this stool has the e-clutch, but if you look at the actual description, it doesn't. I had a customer who bought this because they thought it had the e-clutch, and ended up getting injured because it didn't.
