Needs front handle

The planer is awesome however it needs a front handle. As a result I sliced my finger today on the rotating blade real bad while I was trying to hold the unit when planing some wood. Not happy about missing the tip of my finger and fingernail!!

Needs Dust Collection

I bought this as my current planer's belt melted and I could not get another in a timely fashion. I have a couple of Dewalt power tools which I really like so I thought it would make sense to purchase this planer. Big mistake. No dust collection bag, the exhaust port is oblong so you cannot even fashion a hose to it. Wood filings and dust everywhere. Pretty disappointed with Dewalt. My previous planer has a dust collection bag so I will go back to that one. The planer works fine otherwise.

No dust collection!

I received the DeWalt WD680k Heavy Duty planer kit as a Christmas present. I haven't used it yet but I have researched it extensively and the sad fact is DeWalt failed by making dust collection nearly impossible. I am considering taking this to a retailer that sales this model and exchanging it for a model or brand that offers but collection.
