A nice addition to the Collection of tools

I got this tool at the beginning of my apprenticeship and have pretty much used it every other day at work. I primarily use it to drill out 3/16 holes for TapCon screws, 1-1/8 holes, and chipping out small bits of concrete. When it comes to using 3/16 holes this drill can go on for days with a 20v 6ah battery. One TapCon after another... the drill wont heat up or anything. The cordless functionality allows me to work without having to drag around a cord or need multiple extension cable while drilling holes around the garages that I work on. When it comes to 1-1/8 holes I have a few 60v 6ah and 60v 9ah batteries. I can usually get in between 1-3 holes varying between 6 to 9 inches in depth before a 9ah battery dies out. When using 9ah and 6ah battery I usually only go through 1 6ah and 1 9ah battery before I become uncomfortable using it because of over heating. Ill let it rest for an hour, do another task, then pick up where I left off. When it comes to chipping you can go on for a long time, I usually only use 20v batteries on small amounts of concrete overfill or masonry.

I wish I had bought this sooner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this tool to remove plaster from a brick wall and to drill holes for masonry anchors. I was really impressed with the amount of work I was able to accomplish with even the small 2ah batteries. I drilled over 40 5/8” holes in 75 year old brick and concrete on one battery. Using it as a chipping hammer did use a lot of battery power but with a few batteries I never had to stop because I could swap them out on the charger as I worked.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Hammers the competiton!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To be honest, I have onlyreally used a rotary hammer a few times. After a bad disaster to our home. My wife and I have the arduous job of rebuilding. Part of this rebuild requires the removal of old tile flooring and walls. This was a job I was going to do the old-fashioned way with chisel and hammer until I realized after a moment of clarity that a chisel hammer could accomplish this task. Next thing I knew, I was on my way to Home Depot to find and purchase the 20V MAX XR. Once i arrived at home and opened the box, it sttod out like all of the other Dewalt Tools I own. The first thing I have noticed right out of the box was the weight of the tool. It was strikingly lightweight and concerned me on whether or not it could handle the job. Boy was I sadly mistaken! This thing is a beast and its sizevs power is deceiving. I was able to, WITHOUT EFFORT, remove large tile 18"x18" in a laundry room approx. 8' x 8' in less than 1 hour. This even made the underlying mortar and leveling compound removal a simple task! All in all, I would highly recommend this tool as well as anyt other Dewalt product to anyone wanting a quality and consistant product. I'm glad I have made the switch years ago to Dewalt. Disappoint - they do not!

Yes, I recommend this product.
