Failed after about a year

I bought this drill as part of a kit about a year ago, but I've lost the receipt thus I can't document the date of purchase. The drill failed when I tried to use it today. With the chuck in "drill" mode, the chuck sounds like it's got gravel in it, and slips. I tried moving the chuck to multiple positions with the same sounds and excessive slipping. I'm disappointed. I own a 4 other DeWalt tools and all have given excellent service, but not this one.

Great tool for a homeowner!

I am just an average homeowner who is constantly doing projects around the house and yard that require drilling, driving/removing screws - constructing fences, repairing furniture, hanging pictures, etc. This drill has always performed well on all of those tasks with sufficient power and extended battery life. Even with some age on them, the batteries have continued to charge and hold a charge.

Yes, I recommend this product.

The Chuck is Junk

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this drill sparingly for just a little over two years and the chuck froze. It will not release the bit. When I took it in for repairs, I was told I would have to send it into DeWalt as they could not release the chuck. The chuck cannot be replaced without removing the bit that is in it, apparently. Now it is just junk and I am stuck with it and multiple expensive batteries.

Long term reliability!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this drill since 2020 and can tell you it works hard. I've drilled holes in everything using every size and combination of bit or auger or saw in every condition. It's been fantastic. Saves weight on the hammer function that's not needed for 99% of the work I do but with the correct bit still will drill into very hard concrete and cement.

Bad clutch again

Light use for homeowner. This is my second drill where the clutch stops working. Can't switch drill bits. Frustrating!
